2026 Shamrock'n Race
The 20th annual Shamrock'n Race takes place at Burnaby Lake Regional Park in British Columbia. This St. Patrick's Day themed event encourages participants to wear costumes while running or walking through the scenic trails of a wildlife sanctuary. The event base is located at Joe Sakic Way and Sperling Ave in Burnaby.
Participants can choose from three available distances:
- 5K (walk or run)
- 7 Mile (jog or run)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
The course circles Burnaby Lake, a glacier-formed body of water that serves as a habitat for local birds and animals. For the 21.1 km and 7 mile routes, runners complete a loop around the lake. While this route is also used for the Rubber Ducky Half Marathon, the Shamrock'n Race follows the path in the opposite direction. There is a 3-hour course closure time specifically for the half marathon distance.
The event includes a fundraising component for Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. Organized by Try Events, the race weekend includes a scheduled warm-up session before the start of the different heats. Registration is available in tiered pricing brackets, including early savings and regular categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
