Queen's Park Classic
The Queen's Park Classic is a 5 km community running event held in Queen's Park in New Westminster, British Columbia. The event features a hilly course that mixes road and trail surfaces.
The 2026 edition introduces a brand-new start and finish location with an updated course. The route follows winding paths through the park, starting and finishing at the baseball field on the south side. The revised course features less sidewalk, includes an ascent and descent of the steep 6th Street hill, and eliminates a double loop.
A kids' race is also held. It is free to enter, untimed, non-competitive, and open to participants up to 11 years old. The kids' course stays within the start/finish field.
Registration for the 5 km includes professional chip timing with a bib, a swag bag, a unique finisher's medal, one beer at the finish line, and entry into draw prizes.
The event supports KidSport New West, an organization that helps children participate in sports by providing grants for registration fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
