The Big Easter Run
The Big Easter Run returns for its 11th annual edition at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver. This holiday-themed event features a scenic route that starts near the waterfront and winds along trails surrounded by spring blooms. The course consists of a mixture of gravel and trail pathways, offering views of the North Shore and the Vancouver skyline.
The route is designed with mild inclines and is accessible for running, jogging, or walking. Strollers with wheels suitable for unpaved trails are permitted, and leashed dogs are also welcome to join. Registration includes a water station on the course, a personalized running bib with a custom name, bunny ears, and a chocolate finishers medal.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 1-3 km (1 km loops) for kids, including an egg hunt
- 5 km
- 10 km
The event supports KidSport BC, an organization dedicated to removing financial barriers for children to play organized sports. There is a two-hour time limit to complete the 5 km and 10 km routes, while the kids' distance has a 40-minute limit. The venue is accessible via local transit, bicycle lanes, and nearby bike-share stations. Parking is available in local lots and metered street areas for those traveling by car.
