Shamrock Shuffle - Anchorage
The Shamrock Shuffle takes place on March 14, 2026, in Anchorage with both an in-person and a virtual 5K option. The in-person event stages from the Bear Tooth Grill parking lot with start and finish on 27th Avenue and follows a loop through Spenard, Hillcrest Drive, Forrest Park Drive, Wood Worth Circle, the Coastal Trail, the Chester Creek Trail, and up West High Hill before returning to Hillcrest Drive and back to the Bear Tooth.
The event supports Running Free Alaska, an organization that offers a structured running program for women who are currently or have been incarcerated at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center and provides running-related support after release.
Participants receive event swag including a beanie, a pint glass, and a Bear Tooth voucher valid through the end of March. Lucky t-shirts are available as an add-on for an extra fee. A post-event celebration will take place in the theatre with awards and door prizes; top overall finishers and age-class winners earn prizes or gift cards. Chip times are used for age-class awards while overall placements use gun time.
Packet pickup is available on days prior to the in-person event at Skinny Raven locations and on event day at the Bear Tooth Theatre. A bag drop will be available on the theatre stage. Parking options include West High School and nearby lots; access may be affected by course closures. Safety rules prohibit pets, bicycles, and rollerblades on course, and participants with strollers are asked to start from the back. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
