Snow Globe Run
The Snow Globe Run takes place in Anchorage, Alaska, on the Campbell Creek Trail. The event is organized by the Anchorage Running Club in partnership with the Alaska Zoo. All participants can access the start and finish line via the overflow parking lot located to the south of the former Sourdough Mining Company.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 4K Run/Walk
- 4K Snowshoe
The course consists of a 4K out and back route along the Campbell Creek Trail. The path heads south for 2K before turning around to return to the starting area. The terrain is flat with minimal hills. Due to the likelihood of snow on the course, the use of strollers is discouraged; however, those who participate with a stroller are asked to start at the back of the group. Dogs are not permitted at this event due to insurance requirements.
Before the athletic events begin, a costume contest with a Zoo Critters theme is held. Prizes are awarded for the best male, female, and group costumes. All participants receive a finisher medal upon completion of their event. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers receive specific prizes.
A portion of the race fee proceeds and all online donations benefit the Alaska Zoo. Participants can also receive daytime admission to the Alaska Zoo by presenting the tear-off portion of their race bib. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
