The Skinny Raven Turkey Trot is an in-person and virtual event staged from the Dena'ina Civic & Convention Center in downtown Anchorage on November 26, 2026. The event offers timed in-person races and a virtual option where participants may complete their distance and post results on November 26. Packet pickup is available on several pre-event dates and virtual participants may request their packet be mailed.
Distances:
- 5K
- 2 Mile
Registration includes a long sleeve tech shirt; registrants may opt out of the shirt and have its value donated to the Food Bank of Alaska. The event supports the Food Bank of Alaska through registration donations and a concurrent food drive running November 1 through November 26, with a 2026 fundraising goal of $15,000 and 1,000 pounds of food. The organizer notes recent increases in food distribution costs and past service levels.
Awards are given by age class and overall placement in the 5K, with pies awarded to age class winners and prizes for top overall finishers. Age classes run 1-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+ for both men and women; the Mini Turkey includes awards for children 10 and under. Event policies prohibit pets, bicycles, and rollerblades on the course and ask participants with strollers or baby joggers to start near the back. Virtual participants must follow CDC guidance and local pedestrian safety rules when completing their distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
