About the race
The AMH Anchorage Cup 2x2x2 Relay is a freestyle ski race held on December 6, 2026. The event uses a team relay format in which pairs of skiers each ski two laps of a 2 km loop. A youth Cub ski option offers a single lap for younger skiers.
The relay allows same-gender teams, mixed-gender teams, or entries in both categories under one race-day registration. Racers finalize relay partners at bib pickup on race day. A QR code at the wax bunker is provided to record the relay partners' bib numbers. Registration ahead of time is encouraged to receive a series discount; athletes registering the day of the race are asked to arrive at the wax bunker at least 30 minutes before their race.
NSAA member adults who register by December 7 may receive a $25 discount when registering for all five races in the series. Entry fees are: Youth (11 and under) free, Student (12-24) $20, NSAA Member Adult (25+) $30, Nonmember (12+) $50. The day-of sponsor is Alaska Winter Stars. Race conditions are subject to safety review. The Race Director will assess weather and trail conditions, considering temperature, wind, precipitation, and course condition, and may cancel unsafe races.
Any cancellation decision will be made as soon as possible but no later than 10am on race day. Registration fees will not be refunded if a race is canceled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
