AdventHealth Waterman Foundation Shades of Hope 5K
The event takes place in Leesburg, Florida on September 20, 2026 at 39034 County Road 452. It is offered as both an in-person and a virtual 5K and includes a short kids' run for ages 6 and under.
Distances included:
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- Kid's Run - one tenth of a mile, open to ages 6 and under
- Virtual 5K - 3.1 miles
The event is organized by AdventHealth Waterman Foundation to support people affected by cancer and to raise awareness across North Lake and South Sumter Counties. The community has supported cancer initiatives through this effort for over 23 years. Funds raised provide patient assistance, screening tests, and wellness plans for local community members.
The 5K awards the top three finishers in each competition section: Senior Male, Senior Female, Adult Male, Adult Female, Youth Male, and Youth Female (17 and under). The kid's run awards a finisher's prize to all participants. Registration fees listed for the event include a $40 fee for the 5K and virtual 5K and no fee for the kids' run.
