Scouting America Half Marathon & Tenderfoot 5K
The Scouting America event is organized by Erie Shores Council and takes place on August 29, 2026 at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green, Ohio. The program includes a half marathon and a separate 5K held on fairgrounds and city roads that tour parts of Bowling Green. The half marathon has been held since 2009 and is presented as a tune up for fall marathon training.
A pancake breakfast is included with race registration and is served by area Scouters inside the shelter near the finish area. Additional pancake breakfasts are available for family and friends for a fee of $10.
Event capacity and entry conditions are specified: the half marathon field is limited to 300 runners and the 5K to 200 participants. Minimum ages are 13 for the half marathon and 6 for the 5K. Course open windows are stated for each distance.
