Scouting America Half Marathon
The event offers multiple race distances and stages at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green. All races begin and finish at the fairgrounds, with the course for the half marathon described as very flat and routed through the heart of a college downtown.
The half marathon course passes a range of scenery: industrial areas, downtown streets, wooded bike paths, a golf course neighborhood, and City Park. Water stops along the course are staffed by area scout troops in uniform. After the races, a refreshment zone provides items such as chocolate milk and fresh fruit. A pancake breakfast prepared by scout troops is included with registration and is served inside a shelter near the finish area.
