Scoogië's New Year's Eve Glow Run 5K, 2 Mile Jog/Walk & Kid's Ball Drop Dash
This event takes place on December 31 at Gwynedd Mercy University, 1325 Sumneytown Pike. It offers three distances:
- 5K
- 2 Miles
- 600 yards (Kid's 1/4 mile)
Each distance is started by a ball drop. All three distances are not timed. The finish area includes a glowing finish line arch and a stadium celebration that begins after participants complete a 1/4 mile lap around the track. Every finisher receives a large glow in the dark finisher medal. Registrants who register before the stated hoodie deadline are eligible to receive a hoodie; hoodie choices require registration by the stated deadline and hoodies are not mailed.
There is a best dressed costume contest after the event. Well Crafted Beer Company will provide a free beer to finishers over 21 at the event tent; children receive a free root beer. Packet pick-up and race day information are emailed to registrants before the event. Awards and hoodies are not mailed; registrants must notify organizers at least 24 hours before the event to request that a reserved hoodie or award be held for pickup at a future Scoogië event.
