Schuylkill Navy Run
The Schuylkill Navy Run is the rowing community's Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot along the Schuylkill River. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, 2026, with a $35 entry fee and registration opening October 14, 2026. The run begins at Malta Boat Club on Kelly Drive.
The course covers 5 and 5/8 miles over hilly terrain. Runners proceed outbound on Kelly Drive to Brewery Hill, continue up and over the Girard Avenue bridge onto Lansdowne Avenue, then pass the Sweetbriar cutoff and enter a cross country segment over grass to Meade Monument. The route follows the fence to the Pagoda gate, through Belmont Plateau and up to Belmont Mansion, then returns via Brewery Hill and Kelly Drive to Malta Boat Club.
Eligible competitors include members of Schuylkill Navy clubs and their affiliates, which include Whitemarsh Boat Club, the Sedgeley Club, Philadelphia Adaptive Rowing, Conshohocken Rowing Center, and Philadelphia City Rowing. Friends and family may participate as guests. Divisions are Junior for high school students, Masters for men and women 40 and over, Open for other eligible runners, Guest with prizes for the first guest man and woman, and Novice for first-time Turkey Trot runners.
Prizes are collected from the Philadelphia rowing community and awarded by finish order. Team trophies are scored using each club’s first five men and first three women to finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
