10th Annual MoTown Turkey Trot
The MoTown Turkey Trot takes place in Montgomery Township, Pennsylvania, on Thanksgiving Day. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which is held on a unique course located on the US 202 Parkway. The roadway is closed specifically for participating runners and walkers. The event supports the local community, with the Fire Department of Montgomery Township serving as the race beneficiary.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances and formats:

- 5k running race
- 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 1/2 Mile Gobble-Gobble Kids' Fun Run
The venue for race activities and the post-race gathering is the Kiddie Academy at 1020 Horsham Rd. Following the races, an after-party is held in the parking lot featuring hot chocolate, snacks, and bounce houses.
Awards are presented for the 8k and 5k events only. Prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from 9 and under to the 80-89 age group. A costume contest is also part of the event festivities. The organizers emphasize that registration often reaches capacity before the event date.
