Scilly60% – The Marathon
Scilly60% is a 42 km multi island trail marathon that runs across four off islands of the Isles of Scilly, finishing with a final run on St Mary’s. Runners complete full coastal circumnavigations of St Martin’s, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes, followed by an approximate 5 km finish on St Mary’s. Routes are professionally marked and may be adjusted at short notice for erosion or other local conditions.
The event operates with tidal aware ferry transitions between islands and is organised so that runners carry their own kit and supplies for each stage. There are no energy stations en route; a race first aider is based at the start and finish quay of each island. Participants must start with at least 3 litres of water in their boat bag and are expected to be self sufficient during stages. Sweepers and support boats will collect runners who miss cut offs and transport them to the next island.
Cut off times for the marathon are calculated on a pace of 8 minutes 30 seconds per kilometre. The field is limited to 150 participants and full event support is provided at island quays and on the boats. GPX routes are available and stages are subject to small distance or time changes closer to the event.
