Schaeffer Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Trail Run

The event takes place at Button Farm Living History Center in Germantown, MD on Saturday November 7, 2026. Races are held on private farm property featuring twisty singletrack and wide open farm field running. The 5K and 10K courses use the same routing as the summer Blue Crab Bolt event, with the late-fall landscape creating a different running experience. The half marathon covers 13.5 miles and combines extended singletrack sections with unique open-field running.

Available events include in-person and virtual options across the standard distances. Registration fees include a finisher medal, a race t-shirt, well-stocked aid stations, medical support, post-race food (including breakfast burritos), awards, and professional race operations with volunteer support.

Race rules specify that portable music players requiring in-ear headphones are not permitted, race numbers must be visible on the front, and runners must stay on designated trails. Pets, pacers, and baby strollers are not allowed on course. Age-category awards are offered for Male, Female, and Non-Binary divisions across standard age ranges from 12 and under up to 70-79.
