About the race
The Ghost 5k & Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run takes place on October 24, 2026 at Dynasty Brewing Company in Ashburn, Virginia. The event is presented as the 16th running of the Ghost 5k series.

- Scarecrow Sprint : 100 Yards
The Scarecrow Sprint is intended for children ages 8 and under. Sprint distances are organized by age group: 2 and under, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, and 7 and 8. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and may enter a costume contest tied to the Halloween theme.
All participants receive a goodie bag of Halloween candy, a commemorative long sleeve tech shirt, and a glow in the dark finishers' medal presented at the finish line. These items are listed for both the 5k and the Scarecrow Sprint.
Registration opens August 13, 2026 for both events. The 5k registration closes August 21, 2026; the Scarecrow Sprint registration closes October 23, 2026.
