Linganore Haunted Wine Run 5k
The Linganore Haunted Wine Run is a chip timed 5k run and walk held at Linganore Winecellars in Mt. Airy, Maryland. The course travels through the vineyard and wooded areas of the property and is open to both walkers and runners.
Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass for eligible participants, a finisher medal, and a race bib for chip timing. Results are posted online and participants receive a pour of wine as part of the event.
The event supports the charity partner Nik's Wish. Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in each age category; ten year categories are used: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. If wave starts are used, winners must start with the first wave. There is no age group ceremony; results should be checked online at J3Timing.com and age group awards are available for pickup on the day of the event only, beginning one hour after the start of the first wave.
Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib but they do not receive a wine glass or a glass of wine. Strollers are permitted but not recommended because of uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free and do not need to register. Dogs are not allowed on site due to USDA restrictions.
