THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Anticlockwise
THE LAP - Anticlockwise is a fully way marked trail ultra that circumnavigates Lake Windermere in an anticlockwise direction. The route covers 47 miles and is based at Low Cunsey Farm, Cunsey, Ambleside in Cumbria. The event is scheduled for Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th September 2027.
The course is predominantly on tracks, trail and single track, with some steeper fell paths and short sections of quiet country road. It is described as a low level Lakes route and entrants have a 24 hour time limit to complete the circuit. Route marking includes 2,500 arrows and the event provides a GPS tracker, a map and GPX files. A recce GPX file is attached to the entry confirmation and the event GPX with permissive routes is sent in the final information email.
Five fully stocked feed stations are positioned along the route, plus a halfway aid station. All finishers receive a finishers meal regardless of finish time and a locally sourced finishers medal. The event is open to both runners and walkers and operates with generous cut-offs. Minimum age to enter is 16 or older and the published entry fee is £150.
