About the race
THE LAP - Anticlockwise is a fully waymarked trail ultra that circumnavigates Lake Windermere. The course covers 47 mile on predominantly tracks, trail and single track, with some steeper fell paths and occasional short sections of quiet country road. The event base is Low Cunsey Farm, Cunsey, Ambleside, Cumbria.
The route uses 2,500 route marking arrows and is supported with a GPS tracker, route map and GPX files. A recce GPX file is provided with entry confirmation and the final event GPX, including special permissive routes, is issued before the event. There are five fully stocked feed stations and a halfway aid station with bag drop. A finishers meal is provided for all participants regardless of finish time, and finishers receive a locally sourced medal.
The event is open to runners and walkers, has a minimum age of 16, and includes generous cut-offs with a 24 hour time limit to complete the course. The route is described as a low level Lakes course and is presented as an introduction to ultra distance or as a faster low level option for experienced racers.
