The Rubber Ducky Dash - North
The event is a 7 hour Time Challenge held at Herrington Country Park, Penshaw, New Herrington. It takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026. The course runs on paths inside the park; the final route will be announced a few weeks before the event.
Participants may choose their distance. The minimum official finishing distance is 3 km and a full lap is stated as 7 km (4.37 miles), with a possible change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to meet UK Athletics age restrictions.
Distances available include:
- 3 km minimum
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon (3 laps)
- Marathon (6 laps)
- 50 km and other ultra distances
- Time Challenge option
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a rubber duck themed medal and a rubber duck. Runners who reach half-marathon distance or more receive a distance pin added to their medal ribbon. Finishers are offered a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available on request. Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of drinks and snacks, including vegan options.
Facilities at the venue include toilets at the event HQ and parking. A bag drop is provided but is not secure. Headphones are permitted. Members receive a lower entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
