The Turbine Backyard Ultra : 19 September 2026
The event takes place at West Shields Farm, Satley, near Tow Law, Durham. It follows the Backyard Ultra format: competitors must complete a 4.1-mile loop on the hour, every hour, until only one runner remains. The bell is sounded on the hour; any competitor not back at the start area before the bell is recorded as a DNF. The event includes a 5-person team option; a team’s yard counts only while at least two team members remain running, and an individual with no remaining teammates is classed as a solo runner. Organiser: Greener Miles Running.

The course is new for 2026 and is a mixture of farmland, single-track trail and woodland dirt tracks. Each loop has approximately 400 ft of elevation gain. The route is on private land and cannot be recce’d before race day. Entry fees listed are: Solo £104 (affiliated) or £106 (unaffiliated); Team (up to 5) £450.
