Event overview
The St David's Day Dragon Run 2026 takes place on 1 March 2026 at Dare Valley Country Park, Dare, Aberdare, Wales, CF44 7PS. The event is organised and managed by Saturn Too Limited, a franchise partner of Saturn Running. It marks the second running of this St David's Day event and is held on public footpaths within the country park.
Race format and distances
The event includes a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how far they run. The minimum distance is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles), with a possible alternative loop of 3.28 miles depending on course conditions. There are 3k and 5k turn points within the lap. Lap counts given in the course description: 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon, 7 or more for an ultra. A 50km option is available.

Entry prices vary by distance and offer; a member-only entry price of £22.00 is noted for members, who are guaranteed entry and receive a mini-me medal pin.
Course, services and facilities
The route follows well maintained footpaths with countryside views and is suitable for road trainers. Aid and drinks tables are located at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal; distance pins are issued for half-marathon and longer distances. There is a goody bag for finishers, including a vegan option. The venue provides toilets and a nearby cafe; there are no separate changing facilities or showers. Free parking is available. A bag drop is offered but is not secure.
