Event overview
The Merthyr Half Marathon is scheduled for 22 March 2026 in Merthyr Tydfil. The event is organised and run by Merthyr Running Club and uses Merthyr College as the event base. The race starts and finishes at Merthyr College. All entrants receive a finishers medal, a t-shirt and a goody bag. There is a cut-off time of four hours. Race packs are not posted by Royal Mail and can be collected on the day or the day before the event.
Course and additional races
The half marathon follows an undulating route around Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding countryside. The course uses the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail. The route is predominately on road/tarmac and includes a small trail section. Merthyr College provides baggage drop and toilet facilities.

Entries and fees
Entries open 18 March 2025 and close 15 March 2026. Early bird half marathon fees apply until 30 September 2025: UKA affiliated £37, non-affiliated £39. Standard half marathon fees from 1 October 2025: UKA affiliated £40, non-affiliated £42. Mini Fun Run fee £6; Junior Fun Run fee £8. An optional purchase of event insurance (XCover) is offered.
