Event overview
The Merthyr Half Marathon is scheduled for 22 March 2026 at Merthyr College in Merthyr Tydfil, GB. The event is organised by Merthyr Running Club and includes a half marathon plus two children’s runs. There is a cut-off time of 4 hours. All half marathon entrants receive a finishers medal, a t-shirt and a goody bag.

Entries open on 18 March 2025 and close on 15 March 2026. Early bird and standard fees are listed separately for UK Athletics affiliated and non-affiliated half marathon entrants. Mini and junior fun run fees are listed separately.
The course follows an undulating route around Merthyr Tydfil and surrounding countryside, using the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail. The route is predominately on road/tarmac with a small trail section. The event starts and finishes at Merthyr College, where baggage drop and toilet facilities will be available. Race packs will not be posted by Royal Mail but can be collected on race day or the day before. The organiser offers an optional XCover purchase for possible refunds in certain circumstances.
