The Merthyr Half Marathon
The event is centred on Merthyr College, where the race both starts and finishes and where baggage drop and toilet facilities are provided. The course is undulating and takes runners around Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding countryside, using sections of the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail. The route is predominately on road and tarmac with a short trail section. A four hour cut off time applies for the half marathon.
Entrants receive a finisher medal, a t shirt and a goody bag. Race packs are not posted by Royal Mail; they are available for collection either on the day of the event or the day before.
The event is organised and run by Merthyr Running Club. Entry windows and fees are published for the event year, with early bird and standard rates for affiliated and non affiliated runners. Separate entry fees apply for children’s runs. The event also offers optional XCover to allow a possible refund for unforeseen circumstances.
