Event details
The Merthyr Half Marathon takes place on 22 March 2026 at Merthyr College in Merthyr Tydfil. The event is organised by Merthyr Running Club and includes a main half marathon plus two shorter runs for children. There is a cut off time of 4 hours. All entrants receive a finishers medal, a t-shirt and a goody bag. Race packs are not posted by Royal Mail but can be collected on the day or the day before the event. Baggage drop and toilet facilities are available at Merthyr College. An optional XCover insurance product is offered for entrants who wish to seek a refund if they cannot attend for unforeseen reasons.
Course and participants
The route follows an undulating course around Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding countryside. It uses the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail and is predominately on road/tarmac with a small trail section.
