The Merthyr Half Marathon
The event takes place on 22 March 2026 at Merthyr College in Merthyr Tydfil. It is organised by Merthyr Running Club and follows an undulating course around Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding countryside. The route uses the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail, is predominately on road/tarmac and includes a small trail section. Merthyr College will provide a baggage drop and toilet facilities.

Race details
Entries open 18 March 2025 and close 15 March 2026. Early bird half marathon fees until 30/09/25 are £37 (UKA affiliated) and £39 (non-affiliated). Standard half marathon fees from 01/10/25 are £40 (UKA affiliated) and £42 (non-affiliated). Mini Fun Run entry is £6; Junior Fun Run entry is £8. Entry requires registering with SiEntries.
There is a 4 hour cut-off time for the half marathon. All entrants receive a finisher medal, a t-shirt and a goody bag. Race packs will not be posted by Royal Mail; they can be collected on the day of the event or the day before. Participants may purchase optional event insurance (XCover) for possible refunds in certain circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
