The Merthyr Half Marathon
The Merthyr Half Marathon is a road-based race that uses sections of the Trevithick Trail and the Taff Trail around Merthyr Tydfil. The course is predominately on road and tarmac with a small trail section. The event starts and finishes at Merthyr College, where baggage drop and toilet facilities are provided.
The event is organised and run by Merthyr Running Club. There is a four hour cut off time for the half marathon. All half marathon entrants receive a finishers medal, a t-shirt and a goody bag. Race packs are not posted by Royal Mail; they can be collected either on the day of the event or the day before.
Entries open on 2 April 2026 and close on 28 March 2027. Early bird and standard entry fees apply for affiliated and non-affiliated runners. The event offers an option to purchase XCover for possible refunds in certain circumstances. Entry requires logging in or registering details with SiEntries.
