Santa Run & Walk 5K/2K
The Santa Run & Walk 5K/2K is an annual event held in Crown Point, Indiana, that has been organized since 1982. The event base is located at the First United Methodist Hall on South Main Street. Participants navigate a course through the streets of Crown Point.
The following event distances are available:
- Timed 5K Run
- Non-timed 2K Walk/Run
Participation is open to all ages, and strollers are permitted on the course. While the 5K event is timed, the 2K option provides a non-competitive alternative for runners and walkers. Finisher medals are awarded to the first 300 individuals who register. For those participating in the timed event, awards are given to the top overall finishers as well as the top three participants in each age group.
The event includes several community and social components. Post-event activities involve a visit with Santa, hot cocoa, Christmas treats, and pizza from Carriage Court Pizza. Robin Rock from 93.9 LITE FM is scheduled to be present. Proceeds from the event provide support for local food pantries. Participants have the option to purchase shirts until early December.
