The Flying Turkey 5K/2K Run/Walk takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana. The event features a chip timed 5K run and a non timed 2K walk.

- 5K chip timed run on a flat, fast course on Crown Point streets.
- 2K non timed walk that stays inside the park.
Entry benefits and on site activities include finisher medals for the first 500 registrants, donuts and live music after the event, and a best costume contest. The schedule includes sign in and check in before the races, pre race music and a costume contest with the national anthem, followed by the races and award presentations.
Packet pickup is available in advance at designated locations at the fairgrounds and a local church, with pickup also offered on race day before the event. A suggested time limit of one hour is set for the 5K to reduce road closures. Dogs are allowed on course but not in the building; they must be on non retractive leashes, current on shots, and supervised. Strollers are permitted with attention to other participants.
Awards are given to top overall and masters finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each listed age group.
