Event overview
The Flying Turkey 5K/2K Run/Walk takes place on November 27, 2025 in Crown Point, IN at the Lake County Fairgrounds (889 S. Court Street). The event offers two options:
- 5K - timed, chip timing used
- 2K - non-timed walk; 2K course is two laps around the lake
Entry fees are listed as $30 for adults and $25 for children ages 3-12; children under 3 are free. Shirts are not included and are available for an extra fee through a cutoff date. The first 600 registered participants receive finisher medals. Strollers are allowed.
Logistics and policies
The 5K uses a new course on Crown Point streets and the organizers suggest a one-hour time limit for the 5K to reduce road closure time. The event includes a costume contest, post-event food and live music, and supports local food pantries. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and the top three in each age group. Early packet pickup is available at the fairgrounds and race-day packet pickup is offered before the event. Registrations are nonrefundable and transfers are not allowed after November 1.
