Santa 5k Fun Run/Walk
The Santa 5k Fun Run/Walk is an annual community event held in Muscatine, Iowa. Participants follow a 5 km route along the local bike path, which offers scenic views throughout the course. This third annual edition is organized to support The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program, with all proceeds directed toward this cause.
Every registered runner and walker receives a Santa suit and a pair of gloves to wear during the event. Participants gather at The Salvation Army building located at 1000 Oregon Street. The event provides several amenities, including a light breakfast, music, and designated areas for photo opportunities. Traditional refreshments such as milk and cookies are also provided for those taking part.
The competition includes recognition for top finishers across various age categories for men, women, and children. The age groups are divided as follows: 6-12, 13-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-59, 60-66, and 67+. In addition to the race, a raffle featuring various prizes is held on-site. Participants have the option to purchase event t-shirts on the day of the activity. Registration fees vary depending on the date of entry, and the event also accepts direct donations for the Angel Tree program from those who cannot attend the run.
