Run for Veterans 5K - Walcott
The event is a community run in Walcott, IA at the Walcott American Legion held on April 11, 2026. It supports the Quad City Veterans Outreach Center; proceeds from the event go to that organization. Participants may register a veteran's name to be placed on an Honor Wall that will be displayed at the event and announced during the race.
Registration includes a shirt and a finishers medal, and the races are officially timed. Both the 5K and the 1 mile include a wheelchair division. After the races, all participants and volunteers receive tickets to a grill out at the American Legion.
Packet pickup is available on Friday the 10th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Quad City Veterans Outreach Center, 4515 N Fairmount Street, Davenport, Iowa. Packet pickup is also available on race morning.
The 5K awards overall top three male and female finishers, plus top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups. The 1 mile awards the top male and female finisher. Group registration is offered for 10 or more participants with a 10 percent discount. Registration fees vary by date and by category, and a hat is available for an additional fee.
