Santa Cruz Trail Run
The Santa Cruz Trail Run takes place in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, located in Felton, California. The landscape is characterized by giant redwood trees and diverse terrain, including coiling single-track trails, expansive roads, paths, and sandy sections. Participants may also experience ocean breezes from the nearby Santa Cruz coast.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 30k
- Half Marathon
- 10k
The course features river crossings and high ridges. Aid stations are positioned every 5-6 miles to provide refueling opportunities. A total time limit of 6 hours is in place for the event, and the total participant capacity is limited to 330 runners across all distances. All races use professional chip timing with disposable chips attached to the athlete bibs.
Following the race, a variety of food options are provided, including sweet and salty snacks, fresh fruit, and pre-packaged items such as chips and jerky. Parking is available at the state park for a fee, and dogs are not permitted within the park grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
