The Sandy Bottom training runs take place at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, Virginia. The event is organized by the Peninsula Track Club and offers timed loop running events on a marked trail course.

Course
The course is approximately 5 km per loop and is described as very flat. It uses sections of the Fallen Oak, Wetlands, Whispering Pines, Otey Shelton, Trillium, and Lake trails. The Start/Finish area is adjacent to the Lakeside Pavilion.
Logistics and facilities
The park allows parking and setup on site. The large rented shelter provides space for runners to set up; small tents no larger than 10x10 canopies are allowed. A heated restroom in the Nature Center will serve as the primary facility during the event, and additional bathrooms near the playground are available before the Nature Center opens.
Aid and awards
This is a cupless event, so participants should bring their own hydration devices. The aid station will provide water, sports drink, and food, with gluten-free, vegan, and nondairy options. All participants receive a homemade medal. Additional swag may include customized beanies, neck gaiters, and bottle openers. Top three overall awards will be given for women and men in each event.
