Get Outside 8 Hour
The Get Outside races are held at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA. The event program includes multiple timed events on a 5 km loop course that is estimated to gain about 150 feet per loop. The course is marked, runs in the opposite direction from the July Windsor Castle 10 Hour companion race, and includes two street crossings with very low traffic. The park is open from dawn to dusk.

Laps are counted and organizers track each participant’s miles. A fully stocked aid station is available off the loop and will include hot soup and other warm items; there is no mid-lap aid station. Ruckers must carry a minimum of 10 pounds in their pack. Participants may set up chairs or tents up to 10x10 near the trail.
All finishers receive a homemade medal and an additional finisher item. Awards are given to the top three women and top three men by distance in each event, with ties awarded to the faster finisher. There are no refunds for cancelled registrations, though deferrals may be possible depending on timing. Registration closes on Fri, Nov 27.
