Get Outside 8 Hour
The Get Outside 8 Hour is scheduled for November 28, 2026, at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA. The event is organized by Lion's Pride Racing and offers multiple timed and distance formats on a measured loop course.
Event formats include:
- 10K
- 8 hour
- Ruck 8 hour
- Half GO (4 hours)
- Ruck 4 hour
The course is a marked 5-km loop, estimated at about 150 feet per loop, and runs in the opposite direction from the July Windsor Castle 10-Hour event. There are two street crossings with minimal traffic. Laps will be counted and miles tracked for each participant. Aid support includes a fully stocked ultra-style station with hot soup and other hot items; there is no aid station mid-lap. Participants may set up chairs or tents up to 10x10 near the trail.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women by distance in each event, with ties broken by time; rucking has a minimum weight requirement of 10 pounds and its own top three awards. All finishers receive a homemade medal and an additional finisher item. Registration is nonrefundable though deferrals may be possible depending on timing. The event will be held rain or shine.
