Safe Animal Shelter Fundraiser Trail Run
The Safe Animal Shelter Fundraiser Trail Run is a charity trail event in Middleburg, Florida, with all proceeds donated to Safe Animal Shelter. The event is held on the Sandridge Trail in Jennings State Forest and packet pick up and the race start are located at 2A Live Oak Ln, Middleburg. Last year the event raised over $4,200.
Parking is available at the race start in a large open lot. The course crosses several small bridges over fresh water streams and alternates between covered and open sections. The trail is described as wide and flat.
Distances
- Half marathon two loops trees blazed with PINK trail marked with BLUE FLAGS two aid stations
- 10K one loop trees blazed with PINK trail marked with BLUE FLAGS one aid station
- 5K out and back trail marked with ORANGE FLAGS no aid station
Aid station details for the half marathon and 10K include one station approximately three miles into the first loop supplying water, HAMMER HEED, and HAMMER GELS, and a second station near the race start offering water. Participants are asked to bring a hand held bottle or hydration vest or belt; a limited number of cups will be available.
The event is dog friendly; owners are responsible for their dogs and must bring waste bags. No retractable leashes are allowed. Race policies state no refunds, no deferrals, and no bib transfers. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each event, and every participant receives a swag bag. The shirt artist donated a painting for auction ending March 31, 2026, with proceeds to the shelter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
