Rye Summer Classic Series: Race Three
The Rye Summer Classic Series takes place at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve in East Sussex. This event is the third race in a five-part series hosted throughout the summer months. The course is situated within a conservation site that features a landscape of shingle ridges, saltmarsh, intertidal grazing areas, reed-beds, and saline lagoons.
The running surface is composed of tarmac and is characterized by a flat and fast profile. While the coastal location can be subject to windy conditions, the flat terrain provides the opportunity for quick finishing times. Participants can choose between several distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km Junior run
The 10 km event is open to participants aged 15 and over, while the 5 km race is open to those aged 11 and over. All finishers in the 10 km and 5 km categories receive a bespoke medal, and participants in the Junior run receive a finisher medal. Trophies are also awarded. The event is held at The Point, with the nature reserve offering a coastal setting for the competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
