Romney Marsh 10K : New Romney, Kent
The Romney Marsh 10K is organised by Nice Work on behalf of the Romney Marsh Rotary Club. The event is based at St Martin's Field, Fairfield Road, New Romney, Kent, and uses flat tarmac country lanes in the surrounding area. The final 30 metres to the finish are on grass. The race is held under UK Athletic Rules and carries a certificate of course accuracy. Route maps and GPX files are available.
Two distances are offered:
- 10k
- Children's Dash / Junior Dash
Included for finishers are a bespoke medal, and there is a cash prize of £50 for first man and first woman. Free parking is available at the village. On-the-day entry fees are listed as 10k £25 and Children's Dash £7; advance prices shown elsewhere in the event information may differ. The main 10k is open to entrants aged 15 and over on the race date.
Previous participants describe a flat, scenic rural course and note the presence of friendly marshals. Some reports mention limited shade on hot days and that water provision has at times been a logistic issue for later runners. Event information is sent to registered entrants before race day.
