Rye Summer Classic Series
The Rye Summer Classic Series takes place at the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve in East Sussex. This event is the fourth race in a five-part series held during the summer months. The course is set within a conservation site featuring a diverse landscape of saltmarsh, shingle ridges, intertidal grazing areas, reed-beds, and saline lagoons.
The route consists of an accurately measured course on tarmac surfaces. Because the terrain is flat, it allows for the possibility of fast finishing times, though weather conditions on the reserve can occasionally be windy. Participants can choose between different distances during this August edition of the event.
The following distances are available:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km Junior run
The event provides free parking for participants at the location. All finishers in the 10 km and 5 km races receive a bespoke medal, while participants in the Junior run receive a finisher medal. Trophies are also awarded as part of the event. While this is a standalone race, it is part of a broader series with events scheduled from May through September.
