23rd Outlet Liquors 5k at the Rusty Rudder
The 23rd Outlet Liquors 5k takes place in Dewey Beach, Delaware. This event serves as the seventh installment of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series. The race starts and finishes at the Rusty Rudder on Dickinson Street. Participants can choose between two main categories:
- 5k Run / Walk
- Competitive Walking 5k
The Competitive Walking 5k is strictly for those who intend to walk the entire distance; running or jogging is not permitted in this specific category. The event uses the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System for electronic chip timing. While top overall and masters finishers are scored by gun time, all other age group rankings are determined by chip time.
Amenities provided to participants include gender-specific tech shirts and various giveaway items. The event concludes with a post-race party featuring food and beer for participants aged 21 and over. Additional tickets for the post-race party are available for purchase.
Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers, overall masters, and the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80 and over. Separate awards are also given to the top three male and female walkers. Proceeds from the event benefit the Dewey Beach Patrol and Rotary Club #41.
