4th Community Matters Foundation 5K : Dewey Beach, DE
The event is a five kilometer road race held on August 8, 2026 at North Beach Restaurant, 125 McKinley Street, Dewey Beach, Delaware. It is part of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach race series and is presented in memory of a local resident who died from an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia.
Proceeds support purchase and placement of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), related training, and hands only CPR education for community organizations and small businesses. Past proceeds have funded 19 AED units and an AED tower available 24/7 on the bay side boardwalk.
Race offerings include competitive walking (participants must walk the entire course) and a run/walk category. Shirts are guaranteed for the first 155 registrations. Amenities listed for the event include gender specific tee shirts, giveaway items, and a post race party with food and beer for those 21 and over. Additional post race party tickets are available.
Timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS Bib Tag Timing System; results will be posted online. Awards are given by gun time for top finishers and by chip time for age groups; prizes include gift cards for overall and masters winners and awards for the top three in standard five year age groups.
