Run Happy 5K - Lewes

Run Happy 5K takes place on August 8, 2026 at Schell Brothers at Black Oak in Lewes, DE. The event includes a standard 5K and a competitive walking 5K that requires participants to walk the entire course. The course crosses from the Black Oak area to the Georgetown Lewes trail.

Registration is primarily online with an option for cash or check. A promotional discount code for Black Oak buyers reduces the registration by ten dollars to a twenty five dollar rate for eligible participants. The first 250 registered participants will receive a free event t shirt. A day of registration price is listed separately.

Timing is provided with chip timing using the MYLAPS BibTag system and results will be posted online during and after the event. Event photos will be posted after the event. Awards include top overall male and female and top masters by gun time, with other age groups scored by chip time. Age group awards run from 13 and under through 80 and over and there are awards for top walkers.

Policies note that no dogs are allowed on the course due to insurance, bibs are non transferable, and registrations are non refundable. All proceeds benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
