Run Happy 5k
Run Happy 5k takes place on August 8, 2026 in Lewes, Delaware at Schell Brothers at Black Oak on Black Oak Drive. The event features a standard 5K run/walk plus a Competitive Walking 5K category that requires participants to walk the entire course.
Registration is handled online except for those paying by cash or check. Published pricing for regular online registration is shown as $39.03 with a listed day of event price of $40. The first 250 registrants receive a free event t-shirt. A promotional $10 discount code is noted for Black Oak buyers, which can reduce the registration to $25 per person.
All event proceeds are designated for the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware. The course crosses from Black Oaks onto the Georgetown‑Lewes Trail. No dogs are allowed on the course due to insurance liability. Bibs are non transferable and registrations are non refundable.
Timing is electronic using the MYLAPS BibTag system managed by R2R Timing. Overall and masters top finisher awards are scored by gun time; other age group awards use chip net time. Awards include overall male and female, masters, top three in ten year age brackets from 13 and under through 80 and over, and top walkers. Results will be posted online during and after the event and photos will be shared on the organizer Facebook page. An after party breakfast is planned.
