2nd Rehoboth Beach Lifeguard 5K Run/Walk
This event is a 5K run/walk held on August 15, 2026 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The course is an out-and-back from the bandstand on the boardwalk to North Shores and back, described by the organizer as fast and flat and offering boardwalk scenery. Timing will use the Chronotrack B Chip system and event timing is produced by Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc. Event amenities include custom printed T-shirts, custom awards, a finish line produced by the organizer, and a post-race awards presentation and celebration at the bandstand. Awards are presented to overall male and female champions, overall male and female masters (40+), and the top three male and female finishers in 16 age groups: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 plus. Awards are presented within 20 minutes following the final finisher; unclaimed awards may be picked up locally or shipped for a postage fee.
Registration is offered online through RunSignUp and by mail using a universal entry form mailed to Seashore Striders, 9 Gander Lane, Lewes, DE 19958. Early bird registration is $30 through August 2, pre-registration is $35 August 3 through August 14, and last-chance race-day registration is $40. Participants registered by August 10 are guaranteed a T-shirt. Packet pickup procedures depend on registration numbers and may include early packet pickup if preregistration exceeds 200.
Proceeds benefit the Rehoboth Beach Patrol. The Seashore Strider Event Production organization manages the event. The organizer maintains a no-refund policy with options to transfer or defer entries or to donate an entry fee to associated charities or the youth running program.
