Course and support
All courses run down Payson Canyon on the Mt. Nebo Loop, using pine-lined roads with views of Mount Nebo, Utah Valley, and Utah Lake. The marathon route features a total drop of 4,561 feet. Aid stations on the courses provide electrolytes, water, porta-potties, and basic first aid; GU Energy gels are available at specified aid stations. The event is chip timed; age-group awards use chip time while overall awards use gun time.
Logistics and awards
Packet pick-up and an expo are held the day before the race at Memorial Park. Bus transportation is used to reach some start locations; self-transport to those starts is not permitted. The marathon has a course time limit of 5 hours 30 minutes; runners who fall behind sweepers may be transported to the finish and recorded as a DNF and will not receive finisher medals or awards. Top three overall and top three in each age group receive medals; overall winners also receive a free entry for the same distance the following year. Free race photos are provided.
