Runtastic FRIGID 5K and Penguin Plunge
The event on January 23, 2027 takes place at Utah Lake State Park in Provo, UT. It features a timed 5K race that uses the Provo Delta River Trailhead and includes views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains. The event also includes a Penguin Plunge in Utah Lake.

Participants receive a race beanie and gloves. All 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. Penguin Plunge participants receive a penguin keychain and a plunge sticker. A portion of each registration is donated to Wolfpack Running Club.
Packet pickup is available before the race at a building at Utah Lake State Park; day of packet pickup is also available inside the Provo Boat Harbor building for an additional fee. Photo ID is required to pick up a packet, and someone else’s packet may be picked up if the collector has a copy of that person’s photo ID.
An aid station provides water, Redmond Re-Lyte, and a first aid kit. Race photos are taken at multiple locations and social media sized images are included with registration. The 5K is professionally timed with timing chips attached to bibs; the first three male and female overall places are determined by gun time and other awards are based on chip time. Top three overall male and female finishers receive award certificates and a complimentary entry for the following year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
