Event Overview
The Runtastic Frigid is a winter event featuring a 5K run and an optional Penguin Plunge into Utah Lake. The event takes place at Utah Lake State Park in Provo. Registration options include the 5K, the Penguin Plunge, or a combined 5K and Plunge package.
Course and Schedule
The 5K course uses the Provo Delta River Trailhead and offers views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains. After the 5K, participants can take part in the Penguin Plunge at Utah Lake. The event is timed, with the first three male and female finishers determined by gun time and all other awards by chip time.
Participant Information
All race and plunge participants receive a beanie and gloves. 5K finishers receive a medal, and Penguin Plunge participants receive a keychain and sticker. Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on race morning for a fee. An aid station provides water and Redmond Re-Lyte hydration. A celebration area offers post-race food and drinks, including hot chocolate, bread, and oranges.
Registration and Charity
A portion of each registration is donated to the Wolfpack Running Club. Online registration closes on race day, and day-of registration is available if space permits. Discounts are offered for group registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
