Runtastic FRIGID
Runtastic FRIGID takes place on January 23, 2027 in Provo, Utah at 4400 W Center St. The event includes a running 5K and a cold-water Penguin Plunge in Utah Lake.
Event options and distances:
- 5K : 3.1 Miles, running race
- 5K & Penguin Plunge : 3.1 Miles, swim-run combined event
- Penguin Plunge : 2 Yards, swim only
The 5K course includes the Provo Delta River Trailhead and passes areas with views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains. After the running portion, participants may take part in the Penguin Plunge into Utah Lake. Organizers cut a square of ice and place a safety cage to reduce the risk of floating under the ice or sinking.
Registration opened on January 24, 2026 and closed on June 1, 2026. Listed registration fees were $29.95 for the 5K, $39.95 for the 5K with Penguin Plunge, and $19.95 for the Penguin Plunge alone.
All race and plunge participants receive a FRIGID beanie and gloves. All 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. Penguin Plunge participants receive a penguin keychain and a plunge sticker.
