Event overview
Runtastic FRIGID is a combined running and winter swim event on January 24, 2026, at Utah Lake State Park, 4400 W Center St, Provo, UT 84601. The event offers these options:
- 5K
- Penguin Plunge
- 5K & Penguin Plunge
The 5K course includes the Provo Delta River Trailhead and runs alongside Utah Lake with views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The Penguin Plunge takes place in Utah Lake where an ice square is cut and a safety cage is installed for participant protection. First aid booths are available for both the 5K and the plunge.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pick-up is available Friday, January 23 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the building at Utah Lake State Park. Photo ID is required to pick up a packet; someone else’s packet may be picked up with a copy of that person’s photo ID. Day-of packet pick-up is available inside the Provo Boat Harbor building for a $15 fee.
All participants receive a FRIGID beanie and gloves. 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. Penguin Plunge participants receive a penguin keychain and a plunge sticker. Water, Powerade, and a first aid kit are available at the aid station. Race photos are taken along the course and are included with registration for download after the race. Parking is provided at the Provo Boat Harbor. A portion of registration fees is donated to The Wolfpack Running Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
