Event overview
The Runtastic FRIGID takes place on January 24, 2026, at Utah Lake State Park / Provo Boat Harbor, 4400 W Center St, Provo, UT. The event includes a 5K, a Penguin Plunge into Utah Lake, and a combined 5K & Penguin Plunge entry. The course for 2025 includes the Provo Delta River Trailhead and offers views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains. The event donates $2 from each registration to The Wolfpack Running Club.
Logistics and race details
Current entry fees listed are $44.95 for the 5K, $21.95 for the Penguin Plunge, and $49.95 for the combined entry. Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, January 23 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the building at Utah Lake State Park; a photo ID is required. Day-of packet pick-up is available no later than 8:30 AM for a $15 fee. Parking is provided at the Provo Boat Harbor.
Swag items include a beanie and gloves for participants, a finisher medal for 5K finishers, and a plunge keychain and sticker for Penguin Plunge participants. An aid station will provide water, Powerade, and a first aid kit. The 5K is professionally timed with timing chips attached to the back of bibs; the first three overall male and female finishers are determined by gun time. For the Penguin Plunge, a square of ice is cut and a safety cage is installed; first aid booths are available on site. Photos are taken along the course and are included with registration.
