14th Annual Running for the Bulls (Peoria, AZ, October 4, 2026)
The event is a community run held at Rio Vista Community Park in Peoria and benefits AZK9 Rescue. It offers in-person and virtual options and is explicitly dog friendly.
Distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The course uses the open use New River Trail System with all asphalt and concrete surfaces and starts and ends at Rio Vista Park. Because the trail remains open to the public during the event, participants share the route with other trail users.

Male and female age group awards are given to the top three in each age group for the 10K and 5K (race day participants only). Pre- and post-race refreshments are provided for race day participants. The event is chip timed with real time results and photos available online or via a mobile app.
Additional details: the event is held rain or shine with no refunds due to weather. Packet pickup is available the day before at a TBD location and on race day at Rio Vista Park. Virtual registrations are available and include mailed gear after the event; virtual registration is restricted to US addresses. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are allowed but must start at the back. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed on the courses.
