14th Annual Running for the Bulls
The event is a dog friendly community run at Rio Vista Community Park in Peoria, Arizona, benefitting AZK9 Rescue. It features in-person and virtual options and takes place in early October 2026.
The course uses the open use New River Trail System and is paved with asphalt and concrete. The route starts and ends at Rio Vista Park and remains on the public trail system during the event. Aid stations include doggy pools and the event is explicitly leashed pet friendly.
Race management includes chip timing with real time results and event photos. Race day participants receive a custom event medal and a custom tech shirt with an option to decline the shirt for a reduced fee. Male and female age group awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age group for the 10K and 5K events for race day participants only. Pre- and post-race provisions include granola bars, fruit, water, and sports drink.
Accessibility and rules: wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome and must start at the back of the field. Bicycles, roller blades or skates, skateboards, and motorized devices are not allowed on the courses. The event is held rain or shine and there are no refunds for weather.
Packet pickup is available the day before at a TBD location and on the event day at Rio Vista Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
