2026 Phoenix 5K - Head for the Cure
The 8th Annual Head for the Cure 5K - Phoenix is a community event focused on raising awareness and funds for brain cancer research and patient programs. The event takes place at Papago Park, located at 625 N Galvin Pkwy in Phoenix, Arizona. This gathering brings together brain cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and supporters to celebrate the spirit and courage of those affected by the disease.
The event features several participation options for different age groups:
- 5 km run/walk
- 100 meter dash (Kids Fun Run)
Proceeds from the event provide local support to the Ivy Brain Tumor Center at Barrow Neurological Institute and Path to Hope. Funds also contribute to national brain cancer education initiatives and clinical research. The schedule includes a packet pick-up period before the main athletic events. Following the run and walk, the program transitions to community recognitions, including a group photo for brain tumor survivors and presentations for special awards such as Keeping the Faith and the Legacy of Love. These recognitions honor healthcare professionals, caregivers, and individuals currently battling or surviving brain tumors.
Participants can access a parking map for arrival information. The event is supported by various local and national sponsors, and those interested in team dynamics can utilize specialized resources for team assembly and coordination. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
