Run Wild 5K
The Run Wild 5K is a sporting event located at the Lake Katherine Nature Center in Palos Heights, Illinois. The event takes place within an 85 acre restored natural refuge and features a course that utilizes trails with views of the lake and local wildlife. Participants can choose to complete the distance as either a run or a walk.

The course is set within the natural landscapes of the park, which includes areas for hiking, cycling, and nature watching. Registration is open to the public, and the event is organized as a family-friendly activity.
Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers overall. Additionally, awards are given to the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Pre-race packet pick-up is available the day before the event at the nature center, as well as on the morning of the race.
Proceeds from the event are used to fund Lake Katherine’s conservation efforts, environmental education programs, and habitat restoration projects. This initiative supports the ongoing maintenance of the nature center's environmental programs and the preservation of the local habitat.
