Chi Town Turkey Trot
The Chi Town Turkey Trot is the 16th annual 5K and 10K run set for November 26, 2026, in Chicago. The start and finish are at DuSable Harbor on Lake Shore Drive. The courses run entirely on the Chicago Lakefront Trail and adjacent sidewalks. The event is chip-timed with a timing chip integrated into the race bib.

Participants choose event gear: a classic t-shirt or an upgraded thin-tec soft polyester pullover. Do-Rite Donuts and a commemorative finisher medal are available at the finish line. Beer for participants 21 and older and hot apple cider are also provided on site. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in the chip-timed categories. Age groups run from 10 and under through 70 plus.
Packet options include mailed packet delivery for a fee or packet pick up before the event; virtual participation is available with virtual packets arriving after race day. There are water stations on course, toilets at the start and finish, and a gear check at the event site. The run proceeds in a range of weather conditions unless dangerous conditions occur.
