Beer (21 and over) and hot apple cider are available at the post-race area. Water stations are on course and toilets are available at the start/finish.
The event supports series and charity programs: it is part of the Run Chicagoland race series and the nationwide Thankful Turkey Run/Walk national leaderboard. Team competition features rewards; teams that grow to seven participants receive a free can cooler. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in chip-timed categories. Age groups include 10 & under up to 70+.
Additional logistics include a gear check on site, packet mailing (available for $19.99 while supplies last), virtual run options with virtual packet delivery, transfer and deferral policies, and a requirement that all participants sign an online waiver. Strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only; dogs are not permitted. The run proceeds rain, snow or shine and may be delayed for dangerous conditions.
