Run to the Sea Brighton 2026
Run to the Sea Brighton is a point-to-point ultramarathon that takes participants from Horsham to the coastline of Brighton. The event features a 50 km multi-terrain route consisting of a mix of trails and roads. Starting at Christ's Hospital School, the course follows an undulating profile through several scenic areas including the South Downs.
The first 22 km of the route follow the Downs Link and are relatively flat with a slight downhill trend. At approximately 25 km, the terrain becomes more varied as it heads onto the South Downs, passing through locations such as Devil's Dyke, Saddlescombe Farm, and Newtimber Hill. The final 10 km predominantly consist of a downhill descent into Brighton, concluding with a seafront finish.

The course is fully signposted, and participants also receive GPS route files prior to the event. Four feed stations are positioned approximately 10 km apart along the route. For logistics, the organizers provide a bag drop service from the start to the finish line and medical support. There is an optional shuttle bus service available to transport runners from Hove Lawns in Brighton to the starting point in Horsham.
Registration and race pack collection take place at the start location on the morning of the event. Participants must be at least 20 years old to enter. The race is conducted with ARC and TRA and serves as a UTMB index race. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a memento. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
