Run to the Sea Brighton : 9 May 2026
The Run to the Sea Brighton is a point-to-point ultramarathon of 50 km held on 9 May 2026. The route starts at Christ’s Hospital School, Horsham (RH13 0LJ) and finishes at Hove Lawns, Hove, Brighton (BN3 2FR). The course crosses multiple terrains, including trails, rolling downs and the coastal promenade.
Course, support and rules
The course is fully signed with directional arrows and a GPS route file is provided before race day. There are four feed stations at approximately 10 km intervals; competitors may arrange to have personal nutrition delivered to later feed stations. Professional medical support and predictive live tracking are provided. A race cut-off of 9.5 hours applies. The event is licensed by the TRA and is run under UK Athletics rules; it is registered with ARC and ITRA and is listed as a UTMB index race. Free downloadable race photos and a bespoke finish memento are included.
Entries and categories
Entry options include an individual 50k and a 2-runner relay. In the relay each runner covers roughly half the course: the first leg to the checkpoint at Upper Beeding (23.3 km) is mostly flat; the second leg covers the hilly, undulating South Downs to the seafront finish. Participants must be at least 20 years old on race day. Standard entry fees listed for 2026 are £73+service fee for the individual 50k and £90+service fee for the relay.
