Winter Downs 100 : 11–13 December 2026
The Winter Downs 100 is a continuous point to point trail run of 100 miles (160 km) held over 11 to 13 December 2026. The route starts at Amberley Museum and finishes at Juniper Hall, following the second half of the Winter Downs 200 across four named trails: the South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk, St Swithuns Way and the North Downs Way.
Runners have a 35 hour overall cut off and live tracking is provided throughout the event. The course is not marked with race-specific signage; participants must carry and use the supplied GPX files. Terrain is predominantly trail with 84% trail and 16% road, and total ascent is listed at 10,000 ft (approximately 3,050 m). Average conditions are noted as around 5 C with about 90 mm rainfall and extended hours of darkness.
There are three aid stations on course offering hot food, and runners may use drop bags at each check point. Crew are permitted at designated locations but are not allowed inside aid stations. Runners may spend a maximum of two hours at each check point and pacers are not permitted. Medical cover is provided and a full kit check will take place; mandatory items include a mobile phone, GPX-capable device, battery pack (minimum 10,000 mAh), two headtorches (minimum 200 lumens each), a survival or bivi bag, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm layers, cup for hot drinks, basic medical kit, 400 kcal of emergency food and £50 cash.
