Winter Downs 200

The Winter Downs 200 is a continuous trail run of 200 miles taking place 9 to 13 December 2026. The route forms a large loop around the South of England and follows several long-distance trails: North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way. The event starts and finishes at Juniper Hall in Dorking near Box Hill.

Runners have up to 96 hours to complete the single stage course with live tracking available across the entire event. Crews are permitted and runners may use a drop bag at three major aid stations where hot food and sleeping facilities will be provided. The schedule does not pause for rest; there are extended periods of darkness each day and long stretches between aid stations across undulating terrain.

Route segments include:

  • 18 miles east on the North Downs Way to Botley Hill
  • 45 miles south on the Vanguard Way to Alfriston
  • almost 80 miles west on the South Downs Way to Exton
  • 32 miles via Wayfarers Walk then St Swithuns Way to Farnham
  • final 25 miles on the North Downs Way back to Juniper Hall

The event is organised by Centurion Running and held under a UK Athletics permit through the TRA, permit number TBC. Minimum age for entry is 20. Entry period runs from 21 December 2025 to 30 November 2026 and listed fees include UKA discounted £600 and non UKA discounted £602. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
