Event overview

The Winter Downs 200 is a 200 mile (321 km) continuous trail run taking place 10 to 14 December 2025. The race starts and finishes at Juniper Hall, Old London Road, Dorking, RH5 6DA, and is organised by Centurion Running. The overall time limit is 96 hours. The event is permitted under a UK Athletics permit through the TRA (permit number pending). Entry fee is £600 with a non-refundable deposit of £200. Minimum age is 20. Places are limited to 100 starters; entries are managed on a first-come, first-served basis and applications must include details of relevant running or multi-sport experience for acceptance.

Route and logistics

The route forms a large loop around the south of England using established long-distance trails: North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way. Key route sections cited in the course description include: 18 miles east on the North Downs Way, 45 miles south on the Vanguard Way, almost 80 miles on the South Downs Way, about 32 miles via Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way to Farnham, and the final 25 miles back on the North Downs Way. Terrain is listed as about 20% road and 80% trail, total ascent about 22,500 ft (6,800 m). There are three major aid stations and one safety point; hot food, sleeping facilities and drop-bag access are available at the three main aid stations.
