Run Muskegon's Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5k Fun Run & Walk
Run Muskegon's Turkey Trot is a community fun run and walk held at Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge, 895 4th Street, Muskegon, MI 49440. The event includes a main 5K along the Lakeshore Bike Trail with a start and finish at the Brewers Lounge, and a separate kids fun run.
The course heads west on the Lakeshore Bike Trail toward Adelaide Point, with an out-and-back layout to the turnaround. An optional "Turkey Leg" diverts up and down the Coles Bakery hill and adds 0.4 miles to the route. A water station will be available at the 1.5 mile turnaround. Bathrooms are available inside and outside the Brewers Lounge; there are no bathroom facilities on the course.
For the 5K, participants are asked to provide a $10 donation plus a food item for the Kid's Food Basket wish list. The kids fun run is free and does not require a donation. Strollers are welcome; dogs are not permitted. The event proceeds regardless of weather.
Parking is available at The Mart Dock, Downtown Muskegon, and the City of Muskegon parking lot across the street from Pigeon Hill; Pigeon Hill's own lot will be closed for the event.
Run Muskegon is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports active lifestyles and gives back through scholarships and community partnerships. Charity partners for the event include Little Needs Foundation and Kid's Food Basket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
