Run Minden on Main
Run Minden on Main is a summer athletic event held in downtown Minden. The signature race is a 5K through the city streets. The course is designed with high levels of community support, featuring cheering spectators along the route. Several amenities are provided to help participants manage the summer heat, including water sprinklers, popsicles, music stations, and ice-cold cooling rags available for use during the run.
The event features a centralized celebration area with a large awards stage and a DJ. The race atmosphere is further enhanced by a fireworks display. Participants who register by the designated deadline are guaranteed a technical tank top as part of their entry. Swag bags provided to runners include a drawstring backpack and bib pins. The first 200 finishers of the race receive a finisher medal, which can be converted into a magnet at a dedicated station.
Cash prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners. Additional awards include custom running hats for age group winners and prizes for the most patriotically dressed male and female participants.
Outside of the racing activities, the event is held in conjunction with local festivities. The Grilling on Main BBQ competition and a Farmers Market are both located within walking distance of the start and finish lines. Families can also find activities such as face painting for children.
