Heels Up 5K 2027
The 11th Annual Heels Up 5K takes place on March 20, 2027 in the Provenance neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. The event includes a 5K, a Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under, and a Sleep In Supporter entry. The 5K course starts and finishes in the Provenance neighborhood near 1024 Provenance Blvd, Shreveport, LA 71106.
One hundred percent of proceeds support The Hub Urban Ministries program Purchased: Not for Sale, which serves women and children who are victims of sex trafficking or leaving the sex industry. Purchased focuses on Rescue, Relationships, Resources, and Recovery. Rescue includes outreaches, community trafficking tips, and law enforcement partnerships. Resources listed include food, clothing, education, medical care, counseling, and safe housing. Recovery programs address substance abuse and trauma.
Registration fees for the 5K follow a staged schedule: $20 through September 30, $25 October 1 through October 31, $30 November 1 through January 31, $35 February 1 through March 19, and $40 on race day. Kids Fun Run registration is $15 for ages 10 and under. The Sleep In Supporter entry is listed at $40. Packet pickup is available at Run Wild on March 18 and March 19, and at the race site on the event day. Race shirts are short sleeve and guaranteed for registrations by February 26; unclaimed shirts will not be mailed.
Participants are invited to donate shoes on race day; donating after finishing earns a Heels Up water bottle and a chance to win a one year subscription to Rise Up and Roast coffee. Cash prizes include $250 for first place overall male and female and $100 for second place overall; trophies are awarded across standard male and female age categories from 12 and under through 70 plus.
