Go for the Gold takes place on March 21, 2026, at A.C. Steere Park in Shreveport, LA. The event includes a short fun run and a measured 5k held on a neighborhood route that begins and ends at the park.

The course runs through the Broadmoor neighborhood and is described as flat and fast. Overflow parking is available at Broadmoor Baptist Church across the street from A.C. Steere Park. Packet pickup is available at Sportspectrum and on race morning at the park.
The event benefits The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Goldman School and Child Development Centers. The Arc Caddo-Bossier provides programs and services for infants, children, and adults with disabilities in Shreveport, Bossier City, and Northwest Louisiana. The Goldman School is a year round early education program for children approximately 8 weeks to 5 years and operates as a Type III, licensed, Four-Star Quality Rated facility that serves children with and without disabilities.
Registration fees listed are $30 for the 5k and $15 for the 1/2 mile fun run. Race shirts are available for purchase separately and a purchase deadline is noted to guarantee a shirt. Awards include Visa gift cards for top overall finishers, age group awards, and finisher prizes for the first 300 finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
