Event Overview
The Go for the Gold is an annual event supporting The Arc Caddo-Bossier's Goldman School and Child Development Centers. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at A.C. Steere Park in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Distances
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5K
- Half-mile Fun Run
- Sleep In Supporter (a registration option that includes a race shirt)
Course and Logistics
The race route is described as flat and fast. It starts and finishes at A.C. Steere Park and goes through the Broadmoor neighborhood. Overflow parking is available at Broadmoor Baptist Church across the street.
Packet pickup is at Sportspectrum on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20. It is also available at the race site on the morning of the event starting at 7:00 a.m.
Awards and Amenities
For the 5K, cash prizes in the form of Visa gift cards are awarded to the first and second overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are given for 1st and 2nd place in multiple categories. The first 300 finishers receive a finisher prize. A race shirt is included with registration. The "Sleep In Supporter" option also includes a shirt. Extra shirts can be purchased for $15 each.
Beneficiary
The event benefits The Arc Caddo-Bossier, an organization founded in 1954 that provides programs and services for people with disabilities and their families.
