Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Shreveport

The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon is scheduled for August 9, 2026 at Stoner Avenue Skate Plaza in Shreveport, LA. The event program includes a range of in-person and virtual options across youth and road distances, on a course that uses local parks and green belts.

Distances offered include:

• Kids Dash - about a 20 yard dash for ages 10 and under
• 1 Mile - open to all ages; includes tee shirt and medal, not chip timed
• 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed; overall trophies and age-group awards
• Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed; overall trophies and age-group awards
• Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed; overall trophies and age-group awards
• Volunteer then Run - volunteer then run the 5K; includes chip timing and medal; first five
• Virtual Run - 13.1 miles for remote participation

The course setting typically uses paved trails with possible sections of crushed granite and dirt paths. Aid stations are positioned along the course to provide water and assistance. Packet pickup is offered beginning 1.5 hours before the event, and a shirt-guarantee cutoff is set 10 days before the date. Awards for the 5K, Quarter and Half include overall trophies for male and female winners, masters recognition pins, and age-group pins across standard age brackets. Volunteer roles include water station support, course monitors, finish-line help, lead bike, mascot and other positions; full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP access and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
