Rodeo Stampede - Shreveport
Hosted at Walker Place Park in Bossier City, the Rodeo Stampede features a variety of running events through local parks and greenbelts. The courses primarily utilize paved trails, though some sections may include crushed granite or dirt paths. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine.
Participants can choose from several race distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles)
- 5K Run (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Run
- Kids Dash (approximately 50 meters)
- Virtual Run
The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip-timed events. Trophies are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers in these categories, alongside age group awards ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. First place masters runners aged 40 and over receive special recognition pins. The Kids Dash is a non-timed event for children aged 10 and under, while the 1 Mile Run is open to all ages and experience levels without chip timing.
All finishers across all distances receive a medal and a shirt. The medal is designed to function as a genuine belt buckle. Practical amenities include aid stations situated along the course providing water, and a race rally tent at the finish line offering snacks and refreshments. A western-themed costume contest is also held, with one winner determined by crowd cheers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
